You hear the sound,
but the not the voice of thunder.
You feel the heat,
but not the warmth of fire.
You speak the words,
but not the message of wisdom.
You touch the skin,
but do not feel the person.
Speak to me, whether in love or wrath,
Speak to me, break the dome of silence.
Speak to me, o' Great One!
Shall we meet all but once?
I hear the voice,
the rage within the thunder.
I feel the heat,
the burning tongue of fire.
I speak the words,
the litany of wisdom,
I kiss the skin,
I feel the depth of the person.
I endured far too long,
This hectic paradigm.
I have longed far too much,
For promised paradise.
Exhume me, oh Great One!
Uncharnel me from the chains,
That bind me to this place,
This prison where I rot.
By the power invested in thee,
From all that is, was, and shall ever be,
Take from me all that was given,
To imprison me in futility.
By the power invested in thee,
From all that was, is, and shall ever be,
Mold my flesh into uncharted essence,
Such is my will, so shall it be.
All of you who preach earthly negligence,
Shall scrape the bottom of the barrel.
All of you who preach false sacrament,
Shall be deprived of the essence in spirit.
Sovereign of Sovereigns,
I dedicate my life to thine.
All of you who preach earthly negligence,
Shall scrape the bottom of the barrel.
All of you who preach false sacrament,
Shall be deprived of the essence in spirit.
My doubts and tribulations,
I exchange for thy knowledge.

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
