A fever of blood,
Forbids,
A transient slumber's end.
Docile eyes,
Witness,
Feverish dreams,
Of hollow men.
Come thee near,
Fare thee far,
The endgame, still the same.
Without a star,
Without a moon,
The night sky spreads it reign.
I fear you not,
I feel for you not.
Feeble men,
To desire bound.
I cut myself,
Free from you.
To regain the sight of Heaven skewed.
The sight of Heaven skewed.
The tributary of the human will,
Is nothing but an exercise in inanity.
And promises fire,
When there is no heat.
And promises victory,
When there is but defeat.
The tributary of the human will,
Is nothing but a game of futility.
And promises love,
To a heart that does not beat.
And promises truth,
To eyes born deceived.
Now I depart as a master,
Of the emptiness that replenishes me.
Now I depart as a master,
Of all that once emptied me.

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
